Prof. Dr. Vakkas Korkmaz is a professor of obstetrics and gynecology. He is a member of the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology. He holds two 2015 awards for his research in pregnancy and fetal screening. The doctor currently works at Lokman Hekim University Ankara Hospital.
Clinical Focus and Academic Mentorship
Dr. Korkmaz treats gynecological conditions and oncology cases. He has supervised five major medical theses between 2016 and 2024. This academic mentorship covers endometrial cancer and cervical lesion diagnosis. He also researches the link between iodine deficiency and postmenopausal osteoporosis.
Additionally, he investigated fragmented QRS patterns—abnormal electrical signals on an EKG—in patients with uterine leiomyoma.

Dr. Korkmaz received the 2015 Turkish Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics award. This recognized his study on how metoclopramide affects pregnancy rates. The Perinatal Medicine Foundation also honored him in 2015. This award focused on biochemical aneuploidy screening in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome.
