Kadir Kocadag

Dr. med. Kadir Kocadag is a German board-certified specialist in ophthalmology with extensive experience in both conservative and surgical eye care. He studied medicine at the University of Duisburg-Essen and completed his specialist training at the University Eye Hospital Essen, one of Germany’s major academic ophthalmology centers, under Prof. Dr. Bornfeld and Prof. Dr. Steuhl.

During his university-hospital career, Dr. Kocadag worked in a senior clinical role with a particular focus on macular, retinal and ocular tumor diseases. His professional expertise also includes refractive surgery and laser eye treatments. His doctoral research focused on episcleral venous pressure in patients with endocrine orbitopathy, reflecting an additional academic interest in complex disorders affecting the anterior segment of the eye and orbital region.

Before establishing his own practice, he also worked as a consultant ophthalmologist at Elisabeth Hospital Essen. Since 2015, he has been practicing in Solingen and Cologne and also serves as a consultant ophthalmologist at Städtisches Klinikum Solingen.

Dr. Kocadag regularly participates in professional training and has presented clinical cases and lectures at major German ophthalmology congresses and educational meetings. He is affiliated with several respected ophthalmological organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS), German Ophthalmological Society (DOG), Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and the Ophthalmic Oncology Group (OOG).

His clinical practice covers a broad spectrum of ophthalmology, including glaucoma, retinal and macular disorders, cataract, ophthalmic laser procedures and comprehensive ophthalmological diagnostics. This combination of university-hospital training, surgical experience and expertise in complex retinal and ocular conditions allows him to provide detailed diagnostic evaluation and individualized treatment planning, including for patients who have previously undergone eye surgery.
