A Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon, Dr. Erman Ak completed his primary and secondary education in Mersin and his high school education at Mersin Science High School. He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2014 as a Medical Doctor. During his education, he attended many congresses and in 2018, Dr. at Johns Hopkins University in America, one of the leading universities in the world. He worked with Ahmet Hoke for 2 months. In 2014, he started his specialization training at Istanbul University Capa Medical Faculty, Department of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. During his assistantship, he participated in many cases such as congenital hand anomalies and nerve transfers in the department where hand surgery was performed intensively and signed many successful microsurgery cases. He also performed many successful cleft lip and palate, congenital anomalies and maxillofacial surgery operations in the hospital, which is one of the few maxillofacial surgery centers in Istanbul. In 2018, Prof Dr Fu Chan Wei completed his advanced microsurgery training at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. He made an oral presentation at the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery congress held in Bologna in 2019, where he talked about his experiences with 'LOWER flaps'. He completed his specialization by presenting the thesis 'Investigating the Morbidity of the Donor Area After Latissimus Dorsi Muscle Flaps' and became a Plastic Surgery Specialist. After his specialization, he accompanied the establishment of the Plastic surgery department of Başakşehir Çam and Sakura Hospital and served as the head of the department for a long time. He successfully performed the department's first foot and jaw bone transplant surgery. In 2022, he conducted advanced studies on facial and breast aesthetics for 3 months as an ISAPS fellow with Prof Dr Giovanni Botti and Chiara Bottiile at Villa Bella Clinic in Italy. On the other hand, continuing his international scientific career, Dr. Ak was awarded the European Union aesthetic plastic surgery qualification by the European Board of Plastic Surgery (EBOPRAS) in 2021, following his achievements in this field.
