Rodrigo Prieto Aldape

Dr. Rodrigo Prieto Aldape is a bariatric surgeon in Guadalajara who has performed 3,500 successful procedures. He is double board-certified in general and bariatric surgery by the Mexican Board of General Surgery and the Mexican College of Surgery for Obesity and Metabolic Diseases. Dr. Prieto Aldape also holds a master’s degree in medical sciences. He currently leads bariatric education as a committee head at the Mexican College of Bariatric Surgery for the 2023–2025 term. He previously served as President of the College of General Surgeons of Jalisco and Chief of the Bariatric Surgery Unit at the Civil Hospital of Guadalajara.

Dr. Prieto Aldape performs surgical treatments for obesity and metabolic disorders. He also treats hernias and conducts research on metabolic outcomes after bariatric procedures. The surgeon has authored eight peer-reviewed publications and two book chapters. Additionally, he coordinates the Scientific Section for Bariatric Surgery at the Mexican Association of General Surgery. He presents research at national and international congresses regarding patient safety and recovery protocols.
