البروفيسور ستيفانو بورياني هو جراح عظام مشهور عالميًا ومؤلف نظام التدريج الجراحي الفريد لأورام العمود الفقري وتقنيات استئصال الورم. لقد أجرى أكثر من 3000 عملية جراحية ، وكتب أكثر من 430 مقالة بحثية ، واخترع نظام ألياف الكربون لإعادة بناء الورم. وهو أيضًا أستاذ في كلية الدراسات العليا لجراحة العظام بجامعة بولونيا ، وعضو فخري في العديد من جمعيات العمود الفقري. وهو أيضًا مؤسس جمعية غير ربحية في موزمبيق تدعم الأنشطة الطبية وتدريب الجراحين المحليين.
