Assoc. Prof. Çalışkan graduated from Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GATA) Military Medicine Faculty in 1999. He started his specialization training at GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital Chest Diseases Service in 2002 and completed his training in 2006. He worked as a chest diseases specialist at Girne Military Hospital and as a chest diseases specialist and deputy chief physician at Ağrı Military Hospital. Then he started to work as an Assistant Professor at GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital Chest Diseases Service, and received training for 1 year by working with Prof. Septimiu Murgu on Interventional Pulmonology at the University of Chicago in the United States with the support of the state within the scope of education abroad. He is a member of the World Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (WABIP), European Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (EABIP). He is the co-author of "The Essential Intensivist Bronchoscopy: Bronchoscopy in the Intensive Care Unit (The Essential Bronchoscopy Book 4)", and Dr. Caliskan also did the Turkish translation of the book “The Essential EBUS Bronchoscopy: (The Essential Bronchoscopy Book 2)”. Receiving the title of Associate Professor in 2021 and starting to work at Anadolu Medical Center in 2022, Assoc. Dr Caliskan is still working as a chest diseases specialist here.
